For First Visit Clients
1) Shiatsu is NOT a deep tissue massage. They are different type of manual therapies.
Shiatsu uses only hands and fingers, and mainly applied with perpendicular pressure toward
the muscles, which tends to prevent hurting the muscle fibers and internal tissues.
Therapists apply COMFORTABLE PRESSURE according to each client's condition.
Even though same amount of pressure is applied, the knotted areas are sometimes feel pain,
or insensitive. Therapists aim is to apply a pressure just before you feel any pain and provide
a RELAXING SHIATSU.
2) We work on Client's Fully Clothed during the session.
Because Shiatsu doesn't use any massage oil, needles, moxibustion, and cupping therapy equipment. Suitable clothes for receiving Shiatsu are long sleeve shirts, comfortable pants
(not jeans), socks, and take off your shoes please. Though you may be asked to remove
a jacket, obstructive jewelry and belts.
3) Shiatsu is NOT Registered Massage Therapy. Please check with your insurance provider, if your coverage plan includes SHIATSU THERAPY.
Some private insurers do offer coverage for SHIATSU Massage.
(Shiatsu is not covered by Medical Service Plan.)
For Sessions
(Including Health & Safety Measures)
+ Masks are required.
+ Sanitize your hands.
+ Let us know your health condition.
+ Go to the washroom and empty your bladder before your Shiatsu session.
+ Avoid large meals and alcohol.
+ Client's who are pregnant or who are under the care of a physician for any reason,
should consult their physician prior to booking.
+ Highest Recommendation:
During a session, specific Shiatsu pressure points, Western massage-assisted
stretching, and joint mobilization are applied to the body in order to maintain
physical & mental well-being, treat disease or alleviate discomfort.
Due to its effect on the nervous system, a Shiatsu session helps relieve stress and
pain, as well as improve muscle, organ, and joint function. Therefore, we highly
recommend to have a ''Whole Body Shiatsu" session including Head, Arms, Hands,
& Fingers, Abdominal, Glutes, and Legs, Soles, & Toes regions, not only for Neck,
Shoulder, and Back regions. (Over 600 Shiatsu pressure points [: "Tsubo" in
Japanese] on the human body & TCM Meridian points are combined & distributed over the "Whole Body", which is most essential in Shiatsu treatments.)
~ We focus on balancing your entire body. ~
Ex.) The Shiatsu treatment on the soles of feet is also significant.
They are a vital area for stabilizing your whole body. If the muscles of the sole get tight, you will have poor blood circulation. According to the TCM study,
there is a Kidney Meridian point on the sole of the foot. This point works for
Anxiety, Fainting, Headache, Hypertension, Insomnia, Sore Throat, & so on.
(Note that points & areas from Reflexology and Shiatsu points on a feet &
a hand are totally different.)
Relax and empty your mind. If you can breath out as the Shiatsu Therapist
applies pressure that makes Shiatsu more effective.
ENJOY YOUR SESSION!!
